I no longer feel like crawling out of bed in the morning is an effort equivalent to bench pressing a very large weight, and I\u2019ve actually started to take an active interest in life again. Something I had very dearly missed.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine my surprise when I emerged from my self-imposed cocoon into&#8230;actual sunshine? In Alaska? This is almost unheard of. So it was that I ended up strolling the streets of Ketchikan in shorts and a t-shirt, smelling of sun-tan lotion,\u00a0 my jean-jacket rolled up and tucked into my purse just in case the universe realized that it had accidently sent us Mexico weather.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly not a bad day to find one-self recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Sunshine is probably the best healer next to rest. And I\u2019ve had almost too much rest lately. It\u2019s a treat to actually have energy again, or, if I <em>am<\/em> tired, it\u2019s an actual healthy kind of tired not a horrific drain on my system.<\/p>\n<p>And with the sunshine and the renewed health comes a renewed sense of determination. Yes, this is a hard ship, it\u2019s a hard contract \u2013 there\u2019s a reason that most of the fleet has nicknamed this vessel \u201cThe Black Pearl\u201d, if it can go wrong, it\u2019s probably going to.
