\"\"<\/a>The good weather is still holding in for us, yesterday\u2019s Glacier Bay was a bit dark and dreary, but that\u2019s actually good glacier viewing weather so despite the rain most of the guests were happy.<\/p>\n

We have once again entered the territory of \u2018oil and water\u2019 cruising, the guests have paid less and somehow that makes them more demanding. I can\u2019t count the number of bizarre internet complaints I\u2019ve had so far this week. In fact , it\u2019s just been a crazy week in general, people getting sick, people leaving the ship unexpectedly, people getting squashed in tug-of-war (that last one is a long story, but she\u2019s going to be fine), unexpected room changes, panicked corporate visits. I think we\u2019ll all be pleased when this week is done.<\/p>\n

In all honesty I am so exhausted that I crawl into bed at night, with every intention of just taking a short nap, and pass out cold with no recollection of doing so. If I do dream, I have no memory of it come morning. I suppose that kind of sleep is good for you once in a while.<\/p>\n

But only 9 days left. And it appears that Alaska is trying to at least give me nice weather for my final few days with her. Ketchikan today is very nearly shorts and t-shirt weather, for two weeks now we\u2019ve had almost nothing but sunshine. I keep feeling like I\u2019ve stepped into an alternate dimension, one that doesn\u2019t at all line up with my normal vision of \u201cthe rainiest city in Alaska\u201d.<\/p>\n

Not that any of us are complaining of course…just slightly confused by the strange orange globe in the sky.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
