\"\"<\/a>There are many blessings to being housed in a pax cabin, not the least of which is that when you come back from work at night it feels a lot more like coming home than usual, but on nights like tonight the biggest blessing is definitely the full sized window. Even those crew-members who live in the better A-Deck cabins have only portholes, and someone in my position doesn\u2019t even get that. I\u2019ve long gotten used to sleeping in an inside room, and only really seeing any kind of view when I come up to the office in the mornings.<\/p>\n

It is a true blessing this season to be able to lie on my stomach in bed, with my elbows resting on the over-sized window-sill and stare at the moon. Moments like this, it\u2019s easy to feel like you\u2019re the only person in the world. Just me, and the ocean, and the moon.<\/p>\n

The worst of the storm we\u2019ve been caught in the last few days has finally released us and the sea slipping by on the other side of the chilled window glass is as smooth as it ever can be, for the sea is never truly smooth even on the calmest of days. The moon , nearly full right now, paints a highway for us across the waves, inviting us to follow her.<\/p>\n

She makes a good companion the moon, she and I are old friends. I\u2019ve had many conversations with her, and told her things that I\u2019ve divulged to no one else. I didn\u2019t realise until now how much I missed my time with her.<\/p>\n

Tonight, as the sea slips by and the waves glow silver, I find I have only one thing to really say to the moon.<\/p>\n
