\"ELVGREN_img_08\"<\/a>Now this is more the Dubrovnik I\u2019m used to. Slightly overcast, slightly rainy, but not really dreary looking, just\u2026a little grey. It brings out the red in the roves and makes the streets shimmer. They say we might get thunder showers later in the afternoon<\/p>\n

I am once again saddled with IPM today, so even if I were feeling up to it I wouldn\u2019t be able to go out. Which is a shame, because the Party Band is going out cliff diving (or, in some cases I\u2019m sure, watching *other* people cliff dive) and I was invited, but unfortunately my sinuses still feel like a semi-truck has parked in them, so I\u2019ll be staying in trying to figure out precisely how to breath when my nose doesn\u2019t want to function.<\/p>\n

But tonight is also my second favorite show of the cruise, so with any luck by then I\u2019ll be able to take my second dose of decongestant and be somewhat human again.<\/p>\n

Because I swear I\u2019m going to get through every movie in my library at this rate (and trust me, that\u2019s saying something). Next cruise at least I get to move back down to the bottom bunk of my cabin, which means I\u2019ll be able to sew properly again \u2013 since right now I can only lay out my threads when I know my roomie has a long shift at work and won\u2019t want to come home to nap. That said, I haven\u2019t \u2018needed\u2019 to sew much this contract. Sewing is my retreat, when my brain needs a break and my mind needs a rest, I\u2019m much more inclined to sew when I\u2019m confused or processing in some way than I am when I\u2019m content.<\/p>\n

I apologize, by the way, for the sudden lack of updates in the last few days. The only explanation I can offer is this: this is still a \u2018ground hog day\u2019 run. It\u2019s not as repetitive as Alaska of course, and I like this itinerary much better, but it is still a repeated loop \u2013 once you\u2019ve been out into all the ports once or twice you have a tendency to stay in and try and save some money, so there\u2019s been little going on that\u2019s worth updating about. I\u2019m still happy, I\u2019m still (mostly \ud83d\ude09 ) healthy, and apparently keeping up with my summer tradition of massive emotional progress. Seriously, just once I\u2019d like to have a summer where NOTHING major happened in my emotional life. But this is good progress, as it almost always is, so I suppose I should actually be pleased J<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
