Shadow swung by the desk this morning to finish the last of her paperwork and say goodbye, and as of now is probably on her way through airport security for her flight back to the states; I\u2019m back to my standard longer days and early mornings and my workspace is once again solidly in my hands.<\/p>\n

And to be honest, I\u2019m pretty happy about that. Working with a partner is fantastic, it makes your life a lot easier as far as the workload goes, but it can also lead to the occasional crossed wire and miscommunication, and the management on this particular ship is alert to that kind of thing. If something happens to go wrong now at least I know what I have and haven\u2019t done, which hours I have and have not kept etc etc. So yes, my life is about to once again become mostly about work and sleep \u2013 but I honestly don\u2019t view that as a bad thing, I\u2019ve become pretty decent at balancing it out over the years.<\/p>\n

The controlled chaos of embarkation day continues to swirl around me like so many colours of the rainbow. You grab naps when you can, and make sure you eat a larger breakfast than usual because the chances are you\u2019re not going to be able to grab lunch, and inevitably someone always calls you in the middle of your cat nap because they can\u2019t find someone else\/something else\/forgot to ask you something etc etc, but whatever, you\u2019re kind of used to it. Embark day is something like a carefully organized play, we all know the script, we all know the lyrics, it\u2019s just a matter of playing it through to the end. I slid a note under Amras and Alasse\u2019s cabin door this morning saying that I would be lucky if I managed to see them by 10:30 as \u2018you know how embark day is\u2019.<\/p>\n

The library is \u2013 at the moment \u2013 spotless and straightened, though I\u2019m sure it won\u2019t take long for the 600 or so CVG guests to make short work of that. My computer is finally<\/i> working properly again so I at least have a functioning check out system for the duration of the cruise (we won\u2019t go into how challenging it was last cruise when I had no such thing\u2026well, I had half of one).<\/p>\n

As for me? There\u2019s a reason I\u2019ve thought of myself as a daughter of Diana for many years\u2026some huntresses can take down anything.<\/p>\n
