\nEvery stop I make, I make a new friend
\nCan\u2019t stay for long just turn around and I\u2019m gone again<\/em><\/p>\n

Man this time it\u2019s gone fast, which is strange, because the vacation has been longer than usual! That said, my bank account is very glad that I\u2019m going back to work\u2026<\/p>\n

No matter how much I prepare for it, no matter how organized I am, the last full day in town always seems haywire. I packed a week and a half ago (which garnered no end of amusement from my family, but at least it means I\u2019m not panicking now!) but there\u2019s always little things that have to wait for the last moment. Printing contracts, scanning certificates, buying that new sturdy chain for the necklace I so rarely take off, picking up the last of the toiletries and medications that have to travel with me. There is ALWAYS something\u2026<\/p>\n

And lurking just behind all the organized chaos of departure, is the knowledge that this is the last night you get to sleep in your own bed\u2026<\/p>\n

That never stops feeling strange\u2026<\/p>\n

In actuality this is my second to last day, as don\u2019t leave until tomorrow night \u2013 they\u2019ve got me on the red-eye flight to Montreal \u2013 but I am bound and determined to have everything done well before then, except for packing my electronics which always has to come last.<\/p>\n

At least this time it\u2019s going to be a domestic flight, which makes life ever so much easier\u2026and I don\u2019t have to pack as much as usual as I\u2019ll be doing a repetitive seven day run, and there are easy shopping stops along the way \u2013 that means a lot less stuff to haul with me in the long run.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll miss this summer, as I said to Mum a while back this was what we nicknamed the BSE \u201cBest. Summer. Ever\u201d first really great summer holiday I\u2019ve had since I was a kid! It\u2019s always a challenge to let those go, but at least it means I\u2019m going into work with a refreshed mind and a smile, and that\u2019s definitely a good thing\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
