So, that\u2019s partially true\u2026I can actually cook. I can cook surprisingly well. Put a recipe in front of me and while it may take me some time I will put something yummy in front of you. And ask me to bake? That\u2019d be a specialty,<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s on my own time\u2026when there\u2019s no deadline.<\/p>\n

Put me under pressure? Tell me I have to cook on the spot<\/em>? Er \u2026no\u2026then you\u2019ll be lucky if I don\u2019t burn the kitchen down.<\/p>\n

At least that\u2019s how I felt when I saw \u201cBurger Wars\u201d on my schedule this morning (well actually I saw it last night, very very late)\u2026I even begged to get out of it (which is so not like me!), stomach in knots, shakes, who nines yards. Even wrote Mum and asked her if there was anything special she did with her<\/em> burgers (which are divine).<\/p>\n

Thankfully, I did manage to concoct something that passed for edible; while I didn\u2019t win, the judge at least agreed with my choice of ingredients (classics are a good thing to stick to), and I managed to not burn myself (though I came dangerously close! Like I said, I\u2019m not good with speed!).<\/p>\n

I may not be a chef like my mother, but\u2026at least I didn\u2019t give anyone food poisoning!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
