Or\u2026maybe not.<\/p>\n<p>Well, that\u2019s not exactly true, we <em>are<\/em> still going full steam ahead, we\u2019re just not going quite the direction we originally were!<\/p>\n<p>Extreme swells and rough weather meant we had to cancel our intended call in the Cook Islands yesterday (which didn\u2019t really surprise many of us, the Cook Islands are nearly as hard to get into as Easter Island) \u2013 there was simply no way we could safely get the tenders in the water.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after that change of pace (which resulted in a sea day&#8230;no biggie), it was discovered that there was a tropical storm brewing directly in our intended path and that if we had continued to our <em>next<\/em> scheduled port of call said storm would have been right on top of us! 12 foot swells and pounding rain? Er\u2026no\u2026not going to happen, especially since the next port would also have been a tender port! No fun! So the Captain did a lot of figuring and ultimately put us on course to Tonga (where we would have ended up in a few days anyway), where we will overnight for two nights before going on as scheduled to Auckland.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, books come in, books go out, and I continue to nurse the sunburn I acquired in French Polynesia (<em>breathe<\/em> through the pain, and remember it was worth it, remember it was worth it!) \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Overall though, Mother Nature is treating us well this season\u2026which is a good thing, as it really is quite drettful when she\u2019s in a bad mood!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Full steam ahead!
