So this morning I tucked the envelope containing the portion of the book budget I had allotted for today, alongside two copies of the \u201cwish list\u201d I had printed off of Amazon into my purse, and Jersey and I grabbed two folding wheeled carts and headed for the nearest bookstore.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 80+ titles on the list we were only able to get about 30, mostly because the prices for books are much higher here than they are online or back home \u2013 but we had limited options, and I\u2019m still pretty pleased with what we managed to find.<\/p>\n<p>And really? Letting <em>me<\/em> loose in a bookstore with someone else\u2019s money? And <em>no<\/em> real restriction on what I\u2019m allowed to buy (well okay, I wouldn\u2019t have been allowed to get away with <em>Fifty Shades of\u2026<\/em>ugh, but who would *want* to?) \u2013 that is the equivalent of purposely letting the fox loose in the henhouse\u2026or, as my Mum would say \u2013 putting Dracula in charge of the bloodbank.<\/p>\n<p>Add to that I spent the rest of the morning untangling some complicated situations via some very much needed phone calls (sometimes you just <em>need<\/em> to hear that other person\u2019s voice), and I would say that even though I didn\u2019t join the rest of the crew on bungee jumping (dangling upside down is just \u2026not my thing), this was still a very successful day\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Shaughnessy, what are ya doin\u2019 today?
