A series of small things that made it so, ranging from the fact that I had equally bizarre dreams the previous night (not nightmares, just\u2026bizarre)\u2026<\/p>\n

Capped off by the fact that I was attacked by a flower arrangement\u2026<\/p>\n

Not literally of course, I mean not in the \u201cLittle Shop of Horrors\u201d sense but the giant floral arrangement that sits in the display opening behind my desk did decide to knock itself over, and came crashing to the counter below, spilling its contents everywhere \u2013 thankfully landing in such a way that it didn\u2019t damage the books that were on display\u2026<\/p>\n

I should note that it didn\u2019t damage me<\/em> either\u2026but somehow that was less important to me at the time than the books\u2026<\/p>\n

I say it decided<\/em> to knock itself over because I really can\u2019t think what else would have caused it to tumble. The florists onboard have used that exact same arrangement many times before and it\u2019s even ridden out storms with no incident. It\u2019s so heavy that the weight alone normally keeps it secured in place. But I suppose in this place the slight vibration of the counter must have caused it to slide in just the right way.<\/p>\n

So there I was, sitting minding my own business, trying to get as much work done as I could what with the system being as slow as a dead slug (not a dying slug, and already dead<\/em> slug), and there is suddenly this almighty CRASH right behind me.<\/p>\n

It took me a second to register that said disturbance was actually very close to me. I then turn around and look at the floor and there are flowers everywhere, and look at the back counter and the whole thing is sopping wet, and the vase is lying there on it\u2019s side\u2026looking all innocent as it continues to drip water all over what\u2019s left of my newspapers for the day.<\/p>\n

I suppose it\u2019s a sign that I\u2019ve become used to surprises when my only reaction to this was to look at it some more and deadpan<\/p>\n

Oh, well\u2026that was unanticipated<\/em><\/p>\n
