Out here you seem so far away from everything that plagues the world. And in the winter time the community creativity kicks up and there are plays and music jams and poetry readings\u2026because there is little else to do when the biting cold keeps the tourists away. At least that\u2019s what we\u2019re told, I\u2019m sure of course that it\u2019s different and harsher than that; the winters up here would be freezing and probably very lonely\u2026<\/p>\n<p>But with the right person\u2026or persons\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know, I just sometimes wonder. Wonder if I could settle somewhere, with\u2026well\u2026with someone. I\u2019m hesitant to admit that that\u2019s what I want, because it\u2019s always seemed like such an impossible concept for me, but as of late I find myself\u2026wondering a little more than I used to.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m often saying I want to retreat from the world, and out here with the trees and the water and the wolves in the distance\u2026with a natural battery that I can plug into whenever I need it\u2026that has its appeal. At times.<\/p>\n<p>A million miles away, behind a door that closes, and a lock that locks\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s appealing\u2026at times, very appealing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes I can\u2019t help but wonder what it would be like to live out here, in Alaska I mean, not on the ship.
