2015 has been – as always \u2013 an interesting year. A year of burnt bridges, built skyscrapes, broken and healed hearts. A year that presented me with grief and beauty in equal amounts, sometimes at the same time.<\/p>\n

All years are like that, when you\u2019re at the end, looking back at them. Every year, every day, every moment, changes us \u2013 for the better or worse, nothing doesn\u2019t leave a mark somewhere.<\/p>\n

2015 saw the end of an era for me, saw me leaving behind a ship I never thought would abandon me; and eventually deciding to leave a life behind that a lot of people \u2013 including me \u2013 thought would be with me forever. 2015 taught me never to set anything in stone, because just when you think that everything is going the way you expect, life can throw you a curveball that you never expected.<\/p>\n

I saw relationships crumble that I thought would be in place forever, I saw new ones grow to take their place, and then watched those new ones change just as quickly. The pattern is ever shifting, and that\u2019s part of the adventure. I saw hearts dear to me broken in ways that they may never fully recover, and I forced myself to realize that not all fights are mine to win, no matter how much I may wish to lend a sword. I figured out my own boundaries and what I will and will not stand for. I found the lines around myself that I will not allow to be crossed, no matter how much I love you, because I cannot fall into the trap of trying to fix the world. But I also learned what I can do to<\/em> help fix it, without having to run off and join the peace core. I learned how to ease other people\u2019s pain without taking that pain into myself.<\/p>\n

2015 taught me that Fairy Tales are work<\/em>, and that the happy ending truly never can come in the middle of the story.<\/p>\n

And that the story is always\u2026always<\/em> just beginning.<\/p>\n

So for the coming year, I wish you all the best and all the worst, because without the challenges it\u2019s not always as easy to recognize the joys. I wish for you to make the greatest mosaic possible out of all that the year will bring you.<\/p>\n

And remember\u2026it\u2019s just another chapter in the story.<\/p>\n
