I have\u00a0 decided that swing sets and sunshine will repair almost anything. I hadn\u2019t intended to go out today, I was running on not quite enough sleep which always leaves me feeling a little wrung out; so I\u2019d basically resigned myself to just staying in, watching sci-fi shows, and doing not much of anything.<\/p>\n
Thankfully, I have friends on board who will not let me get away with any such thing. Megara (who is the currently librarian on board, don\u2019t ask me how strange it is watching her work, it feels like watching myself\u2026the way I used to be) took one look at me, shook her head, and announced that we were going out. Period, end of story.<\/p>\n
And it is, after all, Cadiz, and it was s beautiful and sunny out, so I didn\u2019t need an outrageous amount of arm-twisting.<\/p>\n
Cadiz is a town full of twisting streets where you never are quite sure what you\u2019re going to find. Cathedrals, roman ruins, half-off stores, somewhere there\u2019s a fantastic half-price shoe store that I have only been able to find once..<\/p>\n
But I had never been to the botanical gardens, and I\u2019d never walked along the coast. I had only seen the gardens from the top of the bus tour I took on our last call here, so I had no idea where was a playground there.<\/p>\n
Swingsets are like blowing bubbles, you can\u2019t maintain a bad mood when you\u2019re on a swingset. I haven\u2019t been on a swing since my Gran was still alive, but sometimes your heart really needs you to be a kid again; even if your mind doesn\u2019t realize it. I\u2019ve discovered that all too often, our brains are far too caught up in being all grown-up.<\/p>\n
I may not be able to swing as high as I used to (believe it or not, I\u2019m almost<\/em> too tall) but for the most part\u2026yeah, sunshine and swingsets still fix everything.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I have\u00a0 decided that swing sets and sunshine will repair almost anything.
