I hit a wall, I broke, I broke in a way that was not considered acceptable by most. I was lucky, I got through it, I had friends, I had family who did their best to understand what I was going through\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>And because of that, I got better. And I\u2019ve been better for a long time now. 6 years ago I broke through that wall<\/p>\n<p>From that moment on, 6 years later, this day is more important to me than most occasions, it stands above my birthday, above Christmas, above all my anniversaries, above most everything\u2026and I don\u2019t really talk about it, because it\u2019s mine, no one else\u2019s. It\u2019s not a giftable occasion.<\/p>\n<p>But it did leave me with a lesson. Everything in life is about choices; your\u2019s, ours, someone else\u2019s. Don\u2019t be quick to judge, but be quick to support, don\u2019t be quick to intrude, but be quick to understand. When someone says they\u2019re fine, check their eyes, hear whether or not that answer is the truth, and if they are brave enough to confide in you, do not let that trust and bravery be in vain. It is not easy to talk about such things, not even to those who care about us the most.<\/p>\n<p>And for those of you who may be struggling with the same crippling indecision and fear that I once was?
