I still can\u2019t easily play a D-chord. Reading chord fingerings (until now I haven\u2019t read anything, I\u2019ve just listened to Amras tell me carefully where to place each finger on each string) makes my eyes water\u2026and\u2026I can still only play two chords with any amount of confidence<\/p>\n
But I can kind of strum a basic rhythm\u2026kind of\u2026on\u2026one chord at a time\u2026<\/p>\n
Take things slowly, my instruction book tells me, don\u2019t rush your fingers\u2026.it says. Develop good habits\u2026it says.<\/p>\n
Have any of you noticed that patience is *not* my strong point?<\/p>\n
But my guitar now has it\u2019s strap attached (thank you Amras) and is properly tuned. The only downside of which is now it\u2019s not just my fingertips that are complaining, it\u2019s my shoulder. Because the strap puts the weight on my left shoulder, which is notoriously weaker for me (I am so<\/em> right-sided), I never really thought of learning an instrument as a strength building exercise but\u2026I guess I should have?<\/p>\n One tiny little string at a time<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Progress report: I still can\u2019t easily play a D-chord.
