It\u2019s been a very odd few days. I know we are somewhere in Brazil, but I honestly don\u2019t have much idea where until I look at my itinerary. This is because I have never been the biggest fan of south America \u2013 and at the moment the crime rate is particularly high (seriously, we got a notice under our cabin doors about a crew member from a different line being assaulted) so I stay in, and I give my non-IPM days to the people who are more \u201cbeachey\u201d than I am.<\/p>\n
In the meantime I have definitely made a lot of embroidery progress, a lot of hours of the needle going back and forth.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s always more difficult for me than I would like when Amras and I are separated. I do<\/em> pride myself on being independent. I am perfectly fine on my own thank you. But there is a difference between being \u201cperfectly fine\u201d and actually being happy<\/em> about it. I suppose I\u2019ve gotten used to having someone to come home to so to speak, and cruising my way around the world without my other half is a little\u2026uncomfortable.<\/p>\n But over all, I am content here. I have a great room for one thing, and I can slowly feel my imprint being left on it, it\u2019s not the same level of home as the flagship (nothing ever is) but it is at least home-like. One major benefit is that it has an amazing<\/em> desk. What? I\u2019m a writer-type person, having a huge working desk space (really, big enough for two computers and the television) is a big benefit! And it has a comfy chair instead of the normal folding style \u2013 which make me wonder actually if this was an officer\u2019s cabin at some point.
