The Pajama Game – TransAtlantic Day 3 – [04/23/2012]

Every so often they throw in something that isn’t on the schedule – in this case the Pajama Party. We have them every Grand Voyage, and every World Cruise, but they’re never on the official “know before you go” so we never know quite when they’re coming.

So it was that this evening I pulled my hair into pigtails, grabbed my most adorable stuffed animal, and wandered around the crow’s nest in blue flannel. Something you don’t normally do for work…

Normally I would dance up a storm at the PJ Party, the music is always fun, and until the party inevitably dies (usually earlier than it should) the guests are all having a blast – but unfortunately my unexpected accessory tonight was a good sturdy cane. I seem to have either done some kind of damage to my Achilles tendon, or bruised my heel bone – badly. Before anyone asks, I have no idea how precisely. I’m pretty sure the bruise theory is correct as I have a vague memory of cracking my heel against the side of my desk a few days ago, maybe it just took this long to come up pain-wise, either way I’m going to go on crutches for a few days.

The upshot of all this is that I still danced, I just danced sitting on the edge of a bed (they set up beds in the crow’s nest for the PJ party) watching everyone else on the dance floor.

Sometimes despite what else is going on, you just need a good party to make you laugh.
