In some ways preparing to return to the ship is just as stressful as leaving it. No matter how organized you think you are there are always a million little things that you’ve forgotten, you zip your suitcase shut and realize that you forgot to pick up shampoo (UltraSwim, because the water on the ships is hard on your hair, harder than you would think to be honest), you forgot to grab extra toothpaste, and new work-shoes….etc etc…
My room looks like a bomb went off in it, and my closet has been purged, packed, unpacked, repacked…
So that’s what I have spent today doing. I’ve gone “supply shopping” often enough that I know where to look in the the drug store for the right face cream, the right shampoo, etc etc – and fortunately for me I managed to find the perfect work shoes for a decent price. My knees will thank me I’m sure.
Three days, the month has really gone so much faster than I could have anticipated. But it’s time again to shoulder the suitcase and hit the road…
Alaska, with it’s eagles and wolves and hematite and amethyst…beckons me north once more…
