The day before you leave for a contract is almost as strange as the day you come home from one. As usual I’m consumed with last minute details, almost always convinced that I’ve forgotten something, but over the seasons I’ve become pretty good at compressing everything into just two suitcases. Granted neither one of those suitcases is light, but there are only two of them. The last thing to pack now is the computer, which will go into my carry-on tonight. There are about a half dozen travel documents waiting to go into my purse, and a few last minute odds and ends…but for the most part…
Sometimes it’s hard to leave. Especially when the weather is like this. Victoria is in the throes of an Indian Summer right now, and leaving it behind is a challenge. Though I at least hope there’ll be sunshine in Japan…
