The last day before leaving for a contract always feels somewhat strange. You’re here but you’re not, and you’re pretty much convinced that you’ve forgotten something. That you’re going to get on the plane and realize in a flash that you’ve left your paperwork behind or some crazy thing…
Of course everything always works out fine, but the 24 hours leading up to boarding is a strange journey indeed.
Especially this time. Having been home for two months you kind of adjust to the idea of a life shore-side, not so much in the sense of “I want to stay” but in the sense of ….just getting used to a different kind of routine.
It’s a lot like opening night, the same kind of jitters…the same kind of nerves.
…And the same kind of excitement…!
