Interludes of Randomness – At Sea – [08/18/2013]

InterludesDear diary…today Shadow went insane.

I’m kidding of course, well…mostly.  In truth, I’m not sure if someone just fed the girl WAY too much red bull or if she was just surfing the wave of positive guests we had today. Whatever the reason, for the first two hours of our evening shift (which, given that it’s the last day and things are busy, we shared), she was running at something close to perhaps a twelve. This made me want to apologies to all of those among you who have accused me of constantly running at eleven. Thankfully around 9:15 she calmed down and started working on a particularly difficult crossword puzzle rather than perpetually singing Patsy Kline songs in my ear! (though as I write this I realize I may have spoken too soon on that one!)

Someone please keep this woman away from the red bull!!

At any rate…it’s true the feedback was remarkably good for a final day, perhaps the removal of the debark talk really did make a difference, there was certainly a lot less stress on the ship today as we slowly made our way towards Venice.

The weather reports say that there will be rain in Venice tomorrow; oddly I find I’m kind looking forward to that, partially because it might cut down on the crowds. There are only a few things I’d like to pick up, but I’m kind of looking forward to the wandering.

Hopefully I’ll be able to find my way back to the Rialto bridge as there’s a mask shop there I know I want something from. Something in…purple I suspect. Not because purple is my favourite colour, but because I have a purple dress I want to wear for the next masquerade ball (my ribs need a break from my corset).

Marking time in some ways, just chilling back and enjoying in others – life keeps zipping along as always, so I figure I may as well enjoy it.
