I had a slumbe
r party last night! Well…sort of. My roommate and I had the shipboard equivalent of a slumber party. Oddly enough this contract I’m not rooming with someone from my own department, instead my roomie is a lovely girl from the front office. It’s actually really nice to be living with someone outside my professional sphere of interaction – we both have random occasional drama in our departments (though honestly this contract I’ve had very little so far) but they aren’t the same dramas. Much as I love my team here, it’s nice to have a break from working and living with the same people every day.
Anyway, my roomie and I get along very well. I’m actually quite sad that she’s leaving at the end of this cruise (well, she’s supposed to be, that’s kind of…up in the air at the moment, much to everyone’s frustration as entertainment needs her bunk for one of the youth staff! And obviously she would really like to know if she’s going home!)
So we were both off at the same time, and both rather bored, so we ordered room service and a movie and curled up early.
Like I said, slumber party, shipboard style.
This is the benefit of having a roomie you actually get along with and therefore talk to, rather just happening to share your space with someone.
It’s the little things out here that keep you smiling J
