At long long last, Alasse has finally boarded. About time, I’ve been waiting for my sister-in-law to arrive for weeks.
There was a time when Amras was concerned that Alasse and I wouldn’t get along, though he doesn’t remember it (which is fair, it was nearly two years ago) – I can’t say I blame him; there’d probably be nothing worse than the kid sister not liking the wife. But as it turned out he’s ended up with the opposite problem: Alasse and I get along like a house on fire. I’m one of those lucky girls, I love my in-laws (well those of them that I’ve actually met that is).
Not five minutes after they both knocked on my door the four of us (including my roomie, who happened to be there and who also knows them both) were sitting on the floor of my teeny tiny cabin…babbling. Well, the women were babbling, Amras spent most of the time looking back and forth between us and shaking his head. Also, laughing a lot, sometimes rather ruefully.
There is a LOT of estrogen in this room.
Oh come on, like you didn’t expect this by now!
Alasse and I haven’t so much as clapped eyes on each other in nearly a year and a half, that’s a lot of stuff to catch up on. I’m not sure we could have explained to anyone who came by the cabin just what we were laughing at, perhaps we just enjoy laughing after all this time. Things have been getting pretty randomly serious around here these days, it’s nice to laugh some more.
So, now I have a dancing partner again. Used to be that she was my drinking partner as well, but considering my budget for this month and my general distaste for wine those days are pretty much behind me (though she can drink whatever she wants! Lucky girl!)
Heh, look out ship, the girls are back…
