Flashes in the Dark – At Sea – [10/05/2013]

When BANG FLASH the lighting crashed
And well that’s another story never mind…

Weather like this at home I’d be sitting in a darkened house with my nose pressed to the glass, watching the waves crash over the fencing across the street and letting the lighting blind me. I’m quite used to thunderstorms at home – but out here? Whole different story. For one thing the ship is bright and the world is dark, so the flashes outside seem to come from nowhere – and there isn’t always thunder, but when it does come, it seems to shake the already rocking ship.

Mother Nature is not happy out there this evening.

It’s the kind of weather where you feel like you should be wrapped in a warm blanket with a cup of hot cocoa and a flashlight within reach.

Though at least out here we don’t have to worry about the power going out, I think we have back-up generators for our back-up generators!

In here of course, we just continue on in our own little world, the guitarist plays, the drinks flow (though thank goodness happy hour is over) and I concentrate on trying to get over this darn cold that is playing havoc with my sinuses – silly air conditioning combined with so much front-line work with the passengers sometimes plays a bit of a nasty game with my immune system.
