Every so often, you have a day that just requires you to bring out the arsenal. I normally wear my 50s style polka dots to the golden oldies night up in the lounge. It’s cute, it’s flirty and it goes with the theme. But this was just one of those days, the internet’s been down since early afternoon (and shows no signs as of yet of coming back), the bridge players were grumpy with me because I was caught up in the internet being down and therefore was a whole 4 minutes late refreshing their cards, and somehow it seems that everyone has already decided to return their books all at once despite the fact that this is only the third day of the cruise!
Therefore…dammit, I wanted to feel pretty!
As a result I looked up from my dessert over dinner and said to Amras;
By the way, I’m not wearing polka dots tonight
You’re not? What you wearing instead
Don’t know yet, haven’t decided, but not polka dots…actually I’m thinkin’ red
You’re thinking whiplash?
I am
God help us all…
The whiplash special, a solid length of fire-engine red satin with a scandalously low back and a beautifully flirty angled hemline, I have to wear it with a shawl because I’m shy about showing that much skin on a formal night…but it looks stunning. And amazingly enough it’s comfortable.
When I walked into the upstairs lounge I took the back way in, mostly thinking to avoid everyone – because to be honest, I’m still a little bit nervous about that dress, it’s beautiful, but it takes courage. It takes exactly the right attitude. As it turns out going through the front would have been more inconspicuous, because the Party Band hadn’t taken the stage yet, and I hear this whistle from behind me
Holy…is that my sister?!?
Hi Big Brother
Okay, great choice on the name for that dress…
It’s just not very often you can catch even your family by surprise….
*grin*
Why sweetheart what ever do you mean!
x
I think it must run in the family
